I have never really been able to idenfify him in the song, but she says he's there (there are a LOT of people singing in that song). The other CD I have heard him on is by Catie Curtis, although I don't recall the name of the CD right now, I think one of the songs he is on is called 'my dad's backyard' or something like that. Date: Fri, 26 Mar 1999 14:24:47 -0500 Volunteer(s) Wanted: On another list, the Fred Eaglesmith Digest, I've created a supplement that I post from time to time. It's called "The Squirrels' Nest" (so-named as it also contains references to the members of Fred's band, The Flying Squirrels). It contains a listing of Fred's official releases (along with information about how to track the music down), as well as a listing of Fred's songs covered by other artists, guest appearances (by Fred and his band members), etc. I think it would be terrific if someone were to do the same with John's material.... If someone has a bit of time and others are willing to send in any Gorka music-related trivia, then I think that a Gorka supplement (perhaps called The Bottom Lines, or something like that) would flourish... Any volunteers? To give you a better idea of what I mean, here's the latest version of Fred Eaglesmith's "Squirrels' Nest" (including some introductory remarks). - -------------- From time to time I've posted the Squirrels' Nest, a listing of "official" releases by Fred Eaglesmith and his band (aka Fred J Eaglesmith/ Fred JEaglesmith and the Flying Squirrels). The Squirrels' Nest also identifies solo efforts by other band members(Willie P. Bennett and Washboard Hank), tribute albums, FJE and WPB songs covered by other artists, guest appearances by band members (Fred, Hank, Willie, and Ralph), song credits, etc. Digest members have provided all of the information presented in the Squirrels' Nest. To contribute to the Squirrels' Nest, send your information to (1) http://eaglesmith.com net (if you want your Eaglesmith trivia/contribution to be a Digest entry) or to (2) gbouchard@norcat.org (if it's a minor bit of Eaglesmith trivia that you're forwarding). Some of the products are available from various sources on-line (including http://eaglesmith.com; other products are available by writing Fred directly. (Send requests to: Fred Eaglesmith, General Delivery Alberton, Ontario Canada, LOR IA0). Some products --unfortunately -- aren't available at all.
