I was wondering about the track "Wasted Time", though. I had heard that this was supposed to be a b-side, and was surprised to see it on the album. Also, the end of the song is cut off on my disc (the last minute or so just isn't there...). Did I get a bad disc, or was this a mispressing on all of them? New to the list...looking forward to it. I think it works well, and makes "Grace" all that more soothing in contrast. "Wasted Time" is probably my favorite track on the album. The way the two vocals don't really work either together or against each other really heightens the unsettling quality of the lyric. There's so much on the album to love, but this is the one moment where I feel like I've never heard anything at all like I'm hearing. - --Michael ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1999 17:45:23 -0400 From: Charles Isbell Subject: Re: Wasted Time From: "Michael Yarbrough" |"Wasted Time" is probably my favorite track on the album. I feel much the same way, except that this track comes in second behind "Faithful," a song I just find so... haunting. A fine, and different, Meshell effort. I also like "Grace" a lot. In fact, other than the instrumental intro, which I feel I must dislike on principle, I think the album is about as perfect as one can expect from a human being. Peace.
