["Derek S. Bryant" Subject: MeShell on Reprise Compilation Cd... Hey folks...the other day a told ya' about a book/cd combo that had come out that has a MeShell song on it, but I didn't know the name of the book...well NOW I do... It's called "Children First" and it is a Photography book aimed to capture the spirit of childhood. It's filled with shots by world renowned photographers such as Bruce Webber, Steven Meisel & Lizzie Himmel. It's put out by Bulfinch Press, and the profits go to raise money for the homeless. On the CD that comes with it, MeShell has a song (they don't list the song titles, so I don't know if it's new or old). Some of the other artists who also contributed to it are Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Eric Clapton & Nu Flavor amoung others. I haven't actually SEEN the book yet, but my local Barnes & Noble told me they can order it for me. If any of you out there do SEE it, please tell me if MeShell's song is NEW or old...that way I can decide if I NEED to order the combo or not. (I know it's a good cause and all...and I should order it REGARDLESS, but it IS $40 bucks ya'll) Anyway, thats what I know about that... also, if you care...that OTHER badass genious out there, D'Angelo has a new CD (Voodoo) that was SUPPOSED to come out in February...I just got some info that it probably WON'T be out in February...(#@%!!!) It got pushed back again...to an unspecified date. He is still planning on touring with Lauryn Hill sometime in the spring/summer of 1999 though, so it shouldn't be TOO long after February that it gets released. (Maybe MeShell could join them once HER new instant classic comes out??) Ok, thats all ya'll.
