Chris I'll second Apryl's suggestion for AMAZON.COM I buy most of my music locally, but of the 15-20 cds I've ordered online many of them have been from Amazon, and I've been very satisfied with their service. The first time I ordered from them I literally had my order in my hands less than 48 hours from the time I ordered! (I live in the same city as they ship from, but still!!!) Also, as far as SOUL/FUNK/JAZZ music goes DUSTYGROOVE.COM is a great place to order from too. An interesting site to look for used records is: GEMM.COM This site is a collective of hundreds of different retailers all catologed in one huge search engine. The site takes credit card orders and charges a service charge to the retailers for their advertisement. Great concept, cause you can type in the names of rare and out of print stuff and search the catologues of hundreds of stores all at the click of a mouse. Hasn't worked out for me as well as it seemed it would in theory though... Their database doesn't seem to get updated that regularly. Most everything I've tried to order was out of stock by the time I got a response, and often times it takes the retailers awhile to back to you, just for a dissapointment. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Oct 1998 23:01:26 From: Apryl N Paris Subject: Re: NMC: Re: Where can I buy music online? I believe that had I ordered earlier in the day, I would have had them on Saturday. Yes, quite prompt >Also, as far as SOUL/FUNK/JAZZ music goes DUSTYGROOVE.COM is a great >place to order from too. Thanx a lot! >An interesting site to look for used records is: GEMM.COM I love to look for hard to find stuff just to show off to my family how much better it is to do stuff online Pax, Apryl apryl@mail-me.com ------------------------------ End of god-shiva-digest V1 #41 ******************************
