So, has anyone seen How Stella Got Her Groove Back???
More important I guess: Have you checked out Me'Shell's
song for the soundtrack????  I personally thought the
cut was pretty tight. ok, ok the song was PHAT!!!!!!!!

Hi all fellow Me'Shells!

Im Pop, or Cosmic-sloP, or just plain RL'ish Pontus..

I really like the idea of this list (thanQ Michael!) and I hope it will
raise the level of Bashirizm in my life! 

I was hooked the minute I heard the first, now I cant get away. I have
some of the "sideworks" and are very impressed of her new.. that, as the
others, makes you wanna do things. Im searchin for "The Teaching" if
anyone have and would like to make a icq/mp3/file transfer.. I got some
nice stuff to trade with if you like.. 'nuff of that.

Im a bit stranded in this part of the woods (Sweden) so all the
concertreviews on the SOS and Maversuck site's revs me a bit.. hopefully
she'll get near one day.. <oh b/joy!> ..damn, that would be sooo nice!

Hi, Rhonda !

I've yet to see the movie, but I ran right out to get the soundtrack when I
heard Me'Shell was on it!  ;)  I agree with you that the tune is da BOMB
(the best one on the soundtrack, IMHO)!!  I have a real audio clip of "Let
Me Have You" on my site, if anyone is interested in hearing it (checkout
the cruise lounge) along with a few other favorites.  I do suggest getting
the album... that tune alone is worth the price! ;)

I'd also like to thank Michael for setting up this much needed list.  I can
relax now knowing there are others, like myself, who abosolutely love
Me'Shell and her music.

It's amazing to find other Me'Shell fans.  I'm always spelling her name to 
my friends and dragging them to the cd player.  Believe it or not thanks to 
SPIN magazine a million years ago, I am enlightened to the ways of the funk 
goddess.  It's the only thing SPIN has ever done for me.  Does anyone else 
see the Cab Calloway band leader style in her?  I love to watch her 
"conduct" her musicians, she really gives everyone their chance to shine. 
 So yes!  Happy to be on the list.  Glad the list exists.  ok... Hello all!

I have heard it, though I don't own it yet.  Flow problems...
Will get it soon, for Bashir and Mary J.

I do like the song a lot--reminds me a lot of PBP.  Almost
sounds like an outtake from those sessions.  Can anyone who
has the record already check the credits and let us know if it
is one of the Jam/Lewis tunes?

I'm super-excited that y'all are all here, and hope to see it grow
to a good community soon.  Within the next month or so I want
to start putting up a homepage for the list, and I want it to be
very collaborative.  I would like to put together a FAQ and maybe
a page of fans' reviews of the two (soon three?!) albums.  I
could never approach the beauty of songofsolomon.com, but I
feel like there should be some resource in its absence.  I'd like
to take a slightly different focus and present Bashir from a fan's
point of view.  Ideas are always, always welcome.  If you've got
a special talent, speak up!  :-)

hello...i am a newcomer to this discussion list...though i guess
everyone is...since it is a new discussion list...my name is evident at
the top of this message as well as my handle (onevoice)...you can refer
to me by either...i have listened to me'shell ever since peace beyond
passion first embraced my soul through my ears when it was a new
release...i have plantation lullabies as well...and enjoy it though not
quite as much...pbp is very soothing and i like to be soothed...i am
curious as to what bashir means and how it came about...by reading other
posts i have gathered that it is in referrence to me'shell...perhaps a
hindu name...though i am not sure...i work in a music store and listen
to a very wide variety of music...though very little of what gets played
on the radio...i prefer originality and artists who create their own
music...there is very little of that available in commercial
formats...for pontus astrom...the teaching can be found on the money
talks soundtrack as well as the stay single which is no longer available
(technically)...i guess that is all for now...be beautiful and live for
love...onevoice
