I had a huge grin while they played two full verses over the episode's "loose end cleanup" scenes, ending with Rick seeing that Lily has finally signed her divorce papers while Jonatha sings the final "say goodnight" and a quick cut to black. The pity is that, unlike the WB, ABC doesn't have an ad at the end telling you whose music is that you just heard, so you can run out (or to your puter) and buy it. So who knew it was Jo? Sorry for the one-week delay in posting, but didn't see anyone else pick up on this -- maybe because I'm one of the eight TV viewers who ever tunes into this show. What can I say -- Law and Order had a rerun on. Looking forward to next week's show at Irving Plaza with very mixed feelings. Last time I saw Jo with the band, it was at another "ballroom" (i.e. no seats) venue, and I HATED it. Loved her and the band, hated standing or sitting on the floor for two hours. Maybe you young'uns don't mind, but those of us born in the first half of the previous century or recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery would rather see and hear our favorite musicians from a seat in a civilized venue like the Fez (too small?) or Town Hall (too big?) I do understand her booking agent's dilemma in finding an appropriate sized, located and priced hall, but it should be possible in Noo Yawk, of all places. What do you think? I have been successful the past couple years. Cheers for the info about the tv show ... can't wait for Conan! dkb - -----Original Message----- From: Mickey [mailto:mickey@phonetheater.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2001 3:16 PM To: full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org Subject: Jonatha on TV and in concert Last Wednesday, I was watching the end of ABC's "Once and Again" when I heard the opening chords of "Your House". I've seen Jonatha a few times now, and my absolute favorite show was the one at Town Hall. Nice venue, and the acoustics are great. The Bottom Line and Fez are also pretty good. The worst was the Bowery Ballroom. Stand for three hours in a crowd with inadequate air conditioning and trying to dodge people's plastic cups of beer...and you'll want out. /mel > Date: Wed, 2 May 2001 10:16:13 -0400 > From: Mickey > To: full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org > Subject: Jonatha on TV and in concert > > favorite musicians from a seat in a civilized venue like the Fez (too > small?) or Town Hall (too big?)
