Nope, no "New Dress." :-( But still a great show! Much the same set list as has been posted previously. I think I had read "So Much Mine" on another set list, but she didn't play that. :-( The band definitely rocks. Though not to the point of overshadowing her incredible voice. Jonatha continues to show us new sides, and I've loved every one of them. I can't wait to see her solo acoustic again, and then hopefully with a female singing backup (bass player was good, but it's not quite as satisfying to me) someday. But for now, I'm excited about her current configuration. I was so excited to hear "Glass Half Empty" live for the first time. Love that song. :-) "Crumbs" also rocked like I've never heard before. *This* is why she wanted it to be her "Freebird"... Jo changed the words to "Genius or a Fool," which was fine with me. She's not using the "genius or a queer" line any more, apparently. They used the "start acoustic, then add band" formula several times, but it worked best on "How Deep is Your Love?" Ended the set with "Linger" then began the encore with "Out of Your Mind"...I was worried that would be the end (and was prepared to be disappointed), but then she did a lovely rendition of "Because I Told You So"...aaahh, a sweet way to end the evening. One other comment - the bass and guitar players were *quite* easy on the eyes. :-) The cynical part of me wonders if Ingrid just didn't fit in with the new "look" of the band, but I really don't believe that's the reason she's not touring with them. Which is not to question the talent of the band - they were really tight!! Just an observation... If you get a chance to see Jo live, DO IT!!! You won't be disappointed... But you're right, I miss the harmonies provided by more people, especially on "How Deep is your Love" and her older stuff. Jonatha explaining and performing "Genius or a Fool" was terrific as I've always liked the song and its tone, but didn't quite get the full meaning until she chatted about it beforehand. I was curious to see how she'd do the queer line too. Here in LA, it was Fool all the way. Jonatha really is in her element with this new rockin band. Now I want more instruments and more harmony people. - ---------------------------------------------------------- HELP! owner-full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org Send mail to full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org ------------------------------ End of full-fledged-strangers-digest V4 #46 ******************************************* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This has been a posting from full-fledged-strangers-digest For help send e-mail to owner-full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
