I always hesitate comparing Jonatha's new cd's with the past, though it is inevitable. But I have learned, as we all have, to let the new stuff sink in before making too many judgments. This is part of the beauty of Jonatha. The music grows, unlike most much more succesfull artist's music. This is perhaps part of the problem Jonatha faces trying to make it in the pop world. The impatience of the general public and the music industry. It takes time to appreciate Jonatha's music. Sure I will always miss the gorgeous harmonies of Jennifer and Jonatha that first caught my attention. And yes I miss Ingrid as well, though not quite as much. Not sure if anything will move me quite the same way that Angel in the House or Gilded Cage or Amelia did and still do. I don't find a Full-Fledged Strangers or The Choice or Landmine on this cd, but well still really enjoy it, though no song particularly stands out for me in the way those songs did. But I will always go with your creative flow Jo. At least so far it seems that way. Thank God. Or whatever muse she has inspiring her. I am just happy that I have been on the Jonatha train since for the last nine years and look forward to the rest of the trip. And I am glad that I have the entire collection to enjoy together with the new cd. They make a very nice shuffle mix in my cd player. I only hope that Jonatha will not totally leave out The Story material or earlier solo songs from her live repertoire. I just hope she has the performance stamina to play for two and a half hours someday. Now Marsha gave me the idea to go an start a Yahoo club devoted to Jonatha, not only another place to discuss her music, but also to post pictures. And as I had suggested to little enthusiasm to the list last year, it might be nice to see photos of other Dog Dreamers and this club would allow for that. Or we could remain Full Fledged Strangers. I believe it was actually Marsha that was the only person to send a photo of herself last year. So I didn't put together a photo album. Well it turned out that someone had already started a Jonatha club on Yahoo. I think he started it shortly after Steady Pull came out. But at this point there are only four members. So perhaps this will be of interest to some of our member. The URL of the club is www.clubs.yahoo/clubs/jonathabrookeclub . See you there.
