It's been a looooooooooong time since I've posted to this list. I was a regular contributor back in the day of Dog Dreams. I decided to pipe up due to the special occasion of Jonatha's upcoming release, "Steady Pull." Personally, I went whole hog and ordered the CD/DVD bundle yesterday. I think I woulda done this even if I didn't have a DVD player. Anything to support our girl Ms. Brooke. Likewise, I'd like to strongly encourage all members of this list to do the same. We all know what a remarkable artist Jonatha is, so it's important that we support her in every possible way. Well, enough of my soap-boxing. All seriousness aside, I'm like a kid on Christams Eve waiting for my package to arrive. Are there any insiders out there who know if they'll be shipped immmediately upon order or if they'll wait until closer to the Feb. 13 street date? Hopefully, the former. I'll be very eager to hear everyone's review of "Steady Pull." Until then............. That's what I did. :-) No DVD player yet, but I'm sure I'll have one (or have access to one on a regular basis) eventually... >We all know what a remarkable artist Jonatha is, so it's important that we >support her in every possible way. Amen!! >I'll be very eager to hear everyone's review of "Steady Pull." Well, the first question I have about the "Linger" video is...where's Ingrid? Was she involved in this CD at all? I hear harmonies, but I can't tell if they're Jo or Ingrid. Does anyone know?? Maybe I'll head over to the web page message boards to find out... I seem to recall that someone on "Dog Dreams" had an e-mail addy for Ingrid and would occasionally write to her...perhaps we could get a first-hand account of her latest projects...or would DK consider starting a new mailing list just for Ingrid? :-) Jonatha and Jennifer...now that was some kind of harmony singing! Jonatha and Ingrid took it to the next level. It would be great to hear the two of them harmonizing again. Speaking of which (off-topic, sorry), is anyone else wishing that Cry Cry Cry would reunite? Just checked out the web page--it's been ages since I've been there--and downloaded Emmanual and the video for Linger. I was a little dissapointed with Emmanuel-one of my favorite hymn's/christmas carols. The beat in the background distracted a lot (in my oppinion) from her wonderful vocals. I think she should have started out without any beat if it wasn't going to match with the song. What does everyone else think? Good? Bad? I think the beat caused their version from really being good. I did like the song Linger, though. It won't be one of my alltime favorites, but it is good. I didn't think the video was good at all!!! To me it seemed very "chintzy" and cheap with absolutely nothing to make it interesting. Am I being too critical? I hope not, because that's not my intention--I really am a fan of Jo's! =) It seems to me that there should have been some reason to make the video, which it doesn't appear there really was. It certainly won't be played on MTV or VH1 (Because they're rarely into good music it seems) and I think they'd laugh at the video as lacking any basis. It is nice to see Jo, but not in that setting. It was very poor in my opinion. So, let's hear what everyone else has to say!! Anyone agree with me, or am I the only one who's unimpressed? =) Sincerely; Daniel J.
