(These Connecticut gigs are few and far between, so come on down. Tickets are still available). And she and Marc Shulman will also play outside Phily and in NYC next weekend! The LIving Room in NYC is very tiny so come early. Maine in particular. Cold, cold at night. And the big, big, yellow moon arising. Herons, flickers, bald eagles, osprey, many ducks - I think eiders, cormorants, some minks, seals, seals, seals. Oh, the endless parade of beasts truly dazzled. Starfish and winter-plumage guillemots. Ok, enough with the birdies. I am really getting into that Peterson's Field Guide. Lordy, lord. I need a new prescription for me spectacles. So it feels like a new season. And one to get that record I keep talking about in the works! Marc Shulman and I continue to play what feels like a plethora of new songs. Our November residency at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge - four Tuesdays in a row - looms large in my mind! "We" will be some consortium of Marc, Duke Levine, Mike Rivard, Dave Mattacks, Jon Sands and Paul Bryan... Nov. 7, 14, 21, 28. R and D records sent me a fabulous review of the Dusty Springfield record, Chained to a Memory, which they put out this year. Nice little mention of the track I contributed, and a total rant on pop rock by the author: http://www.seattleweekly.com/features/0027/two-reighley.shtml Two Ears and a Tale Forever Dusty by Kurt B. Reighley Things I have been reading and listening to: - -------------------------------------- Just when you think you won't be surprised by three guys in a rock trio - get a new facial expression by checking out these two bands: Joe, Marc's Brother - www.joemarcsbrother.com Reverse - www.reverse3.com My new Nashville friend, Sarah Siskind (who has such a cool thing going with her gorgeous vocals and trills, and ridiculously lovely chords) gave me Joe, Marc's Brother's cd. Can't take it out of the hi-fi. OK, just had to tell you about them. Some favorite books of late: Sarah Blake's first novel "Grange House," Michael Ondaatje's "Running in the Family," Barbara Kingsolver's "The Poisonwood Bible," Linda Greenlaw's "The Hungry Ocean." The latter being an especially good antidote for that perfect storm thing I got caught up in. Hey if you like reading about storms try Farley Mowat's "The Serpent's Coil." - --0-596516649-969046216=:5473-- - ---------------------------------------------------------- HELP! owner-full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org Send mail to full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org ------------------------------ End of full-fledged-strangers-digest V3 #30 ******************************************* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This has been a posting from full-fledged-strangers-digest For help send e-mail to owner-full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
