All I can say is that I'm disappointed Jonatha isn't playing more west coast dates. Back in the mid 90s, she played all over Boston and the east coast, all the time, even if she didn't have an album out. Now that she's hanging out with us on the west coast, she's not playing at all! Hopefully she's at least working on a new album. - --mike At 05:10 PM 11/23/99 -0500, Jeff Miller wrote: >Anybody around? Dar Williams was in the audience for the opener (whose name I can't remember, but she was great, and apparently a good friend of Dar's) and came on stage for a few songs--very fun. And Jonatha was phenomenal, performing quite a few new songs. It was a great venue for the true fan, very intimate, and she seemed really up. Of course she came out afterwards for chatting and signing. She performed completely alone with a guitar--tremendously. It was a real treat, as she had been in Northampton this summer, and I didn't really expect to see her again this year. So now I've seen her in almost all possible guises--with a full band, minimal backup, with Ingrid, and now alone. My millenium's complete! - ---------------------------------------------------------- HELP! owner-full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org Send mail to full-fledged-strangers@smoe.org ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1999 22:51:48 -0800 From: "Michael Lynch" Subject: Re: Jonatha in Amherst Having seen Jonatha about 6 times, I have to say the best ever was the first time I saw her, by herself, at Slim's in San Francisco. Ingrid is always fun, but I've always been dissapointed in her backup bands. She is much more powerful by herself. - --mike - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 1999 6:52 PM Subject: Jonatha in Amherst > Jonatha was here in Amherst a few weeks ago performing in a small room at the > campus center at Amherst College.
