The Clash's DJ Scratchy is coming over from the uk this week and we are combining to do some screening + DJ efforts at some NYC drinking holes. Sat May 3rd Raven Cafe 194 Ave A (&12th) 11pm Mon May 5th Manitoba's (ave B &7th) 11pm Tue May 6th Sugar 311 Church St (block s. of Canal) 9pm & 1am May 8th Groovejet Lounge 286 Spring (w. of Varick) 10pm Further notes: No Cover except where indicated. A $5 VCD will be available at all shows. Times are film times. Scratchy will be on b4 and after. The late shows will be an edited version of St Anns on the Sat night. Sugar early is the entire Thursday concert. Groovejet is the entire Friday concert. Raven has a comfy bench outside for the puffers. The NY Rel-x are playing earlier that night at Manitobas. We aim to set up a projector after they clear so that may run a little late. Note the door At Sugar is 8.30. Sugar has a nice big screen and also serves food. Groovejet will be open early 6-9pm when special guests IYAH VIBES sound will warm the room and I'll test the projector with some reggae punkcasts. Bring your own food. Groovejet has a cabaret licence so dancing is definitely permitted.
