What's the Bull in the Heather LJ song? I heard one from Kazaa.com (the new Napster for me!) and it was like the LJ girls talking in the background on a Bull in the Heather remix at a radio station....is this the same song? My copy from Kazaa got messed up (dumb computer) so I have to look for it again though. If anyone wants a CD I can make one as well. I have every recording that LJ has ever done professionally....plus about 3 bootleg/live recordings. Just write me privately with your requests I guess is the best way to go about this....? I also can make VHS dubs of music videos and their promo videos. I'm willing to trade or compile and ship what it is you need for a reasonabe fee. Let me know.....~Kate~ - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2002 6:20 PM Subject: Re: find-your-mind rareties? > ill see what i can put together > right now it looks just like: > > Nervous Breakthrough remix > Love thats Real suite > 69 Annee Erotique > Love is here > Down to Earth > Bull in the Heather > Roses Fade > Queen of Bliss > Gridlock > To Sir With Love > and some Ladyfingers remixes. > I have the stuff from the vinyl at home, but if anybody can get Radiating, Daddy, and the other stuff to me Ill burn a copy for evrybody > I have a really efficient CD burner compiler thing. > What do you say?? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2002 13:48:42 -0500 From: "Kate" Subject: Re: find-your-mind rareties? :) I always thought that was Jill doing the british impersonation in that song. You're talking about the 'talking part' during the mellow intro and the hardcore part, right? I think that's Jill....sounds like her! :) - ----- Original Message ----- From: "WWWhatsup" To: Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2002 5:08 PM Subject: Re: find-your-mind rareties? > i've not heard the track but i don't think > Ari ever recorded with LJ - i could be wrong > > charles.carlino@prudential.com wrote: > > > Forgot to ask....who's the British woman who's on "Love That's Real Suite" > > ? Good to hear from you again! I looked for the site about a month ago and got some weird 'go here for the site you requested' and then it wasn't there. I was sad! haha. If you want to revive the LJ site you had that would be awesome. I have a lot of the pictures off of your site and most if not all of the tab. Let me know if you want me to send you any stuff. I can send through e-mails or on CD. OH...I also have a bunch of wavs and videos on my comp that LJ did too that I've acquired in various places through the years. Write me and I miss ya! ~Kate~ :) - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marieeve Bonnet" To: Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2002 10:53 PM Subject: Re: find-your-mind rareties? > >Forgot to ask....who's the British woman who's on "Love That's Real Suite" > >? Why yes 'tis I. I continued doing the site with Dusty Trails stuff, but since they became sort of inactive as well I stopped adding shit altogether. I have no clue what's up with them. They were supposed to tour when the album came out, but besides a few local NYC gigs, I don't think that ever happened. I'm thinking if you emailed them at info@dustytrailsmusic.com, perhaps you'd get an answer. Who knows. A friend of mine emailed Viv there (I think) once and got a reply, be it a late one, but one nonetheless. Just sayin', since you look like the kind of man who's good at makin' them contacts. Thanks Marie. You know, unless the LJ gals are independently wealthy or making a killing in royalties (which I tend to think they're not), how the heck can they survive living (a) in Manhattan (even the East Village ain't cheap nowadays), (b) without a steady income from touring, etc., or even (c) from doing backup sessions, commercial work, and so forth? I'm not nosey about their personal lives or anything but just curious as I have a lot of part-time musician friends who *want* to make a full-time go of music but *have* to work full-time days jobs in order to keep making music. Do you think the LJ ladies made enough money during their band days to sort of sit back and do nothing for at least 2 years (at this point)? I don't mean to say they're doing nothing, but doesn't it also cost megabucks to get studio time, record, etc? I would think so. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2002 16:16:25 -0600 From: "Tina Bonacci" Subject: Re: find-your-mind rareties? Chuck, Is it time for an episode of Behind the Music already? "There was a plane crash, somebody had a drug problem..." I've also been curious about how they've managed to make a living after the split. I doubt they made "a lot" of dough from their LJ days, though I'm sure they made enough to make a decent living. I think they probably lost a lot of money with EH and all the major label fusions that started around that time. Even Grand Royal has gone bust since. They probably made more money when they were indies (20% off each record (but less exposure), VS 1-2% with the majors), and they toured much more during that time too. That and songs on soundtracks, and let's not forget the Gap ads alone... I mean, it's probably good money. But with all the fusions shit, not only do you get less off each record sold, but those fuckers also spend less time promoting you because they've got that next N'SYNC record to put out. In that light I think it's a good thing they stopped. More power to them. As for now, with all the contacts they've made during those days, I think it'd be possible for them to still live by making music. I mean an established songwriter can write for other people. Perhaps they set up their own personal studios in their apartments and are getting a little money by producing other people that way too, or simply using it for themselves to avoid those big studio costs. Maybe they got dayjobs along with that, I mean why the hell not, that's what they did before the band started to get more popular. All the girls had college degrees before they founded the band, maybe they're using that now. Obviously, I don't have a fucking clue about this, but hey. It's just too bad they haven't been keeping in contact with the fans via the website. If they had, we wouldn't be speculating and shit.
