How's everybody? I just wanted to recommend The Januaries to everyone as a great new band to check out. I bought their album based on nothing more than a short review in a newspaper, and I was blown away. Very, very cool -- kind of like if Sergio Mendes and Dusty Springfield had a daughter and it was Shirley Manson! But the singer, Debbie Diamond, is actually a lot better vocalist than Shirley Manson. My company, Lightyear Entertainment, distributes the label that the Januaries are on. If you go to www.lightyear.com, you can see a really cool flash video called "Black Transmission." I normally don't even listen to the stuff my labels put out but The Januaries are definitely something different and palatable to my ears. It's good to see people who love LJ, like music that my job is associated with. The label we distribute is Foodchain Records. They're based out of L.A. and they are funneling some great music our way! I'd attach the above mentioned video here but I think that's forbidden on this list. Besides, it would take a long time to download for all the receipients. Peace............good to hear from a familiar name on the list.
