Viv and Jo have succeeded where many fail -- they've created music that is both relaxed and very catchy. Right from the first spin, little grooves and melody lines begin to insinuate themselves into your conciousness. Pretty soon, you're humming "You Freed Yourself" (or any one of the tracks) without even knowing where you picked up the tune. This music is smooth and seamless, with no sharp edges. Instead of assaulting the ears (not that there's anything wrong with that!), it eases silkily into the brain. I am going through a very stressful time right now, and Dusty Trails has come along at exactly the right moment in my life. But even if everything's rosy in your world, you won't be able to resist the combination of atmosphere and hookiness (is that a word?) on this album.
