From Atlantic Recs/CMJ: CMJ Travels the Tracks of DUSTY TRAILS May 10, 2000 While we can’t provide you with your own personal camera crew, we do have a way to give your life a glamorous cinematic air. Pick up the debut disk by Dusty Trails! One listen to the richly textured, vaguely trip-hoppy melodies and you’d swear there’s a guy filming you in 16mm. And that’s the point. As a matter of fact the duo (made up of ex-Breeder bassist Josephine Wiggs and former Luscious Jackson member Vivian Trimble) originally used their demo as both a lure for record companies, and as a way to attract attention to their skill as soundtrack composers. And even their name evokes images of film, as Wiggs mentions in the June issue of CMJ. “Dusty Trails could have been the name of an old B-movie actor…So, this is our chance to play the most glamour-puss, Grace Kelly versions of ourselves.” To hear them at play, head over to INSTAVID and look ‘em up. We’ve got an online viewable info-pack that includes samples off DUSTY TRAILS, an album labeled by CMJ as “a nicely chilled pop spin.” And to learn more about the duo behind the music, watch for their upcoming online chats. They’ll be featured in a live chat on MSN.com on March 15, at 10pm ET, and are also chatting on Gurl.com, May 18th – at 6pm ET. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of find-your-mind-digest V3 #52 ***********************************
