Does anyone have any predictions about her? IMHO, she's come along quite well w/ her songwriting, but unlike Jill, it's hard for me to imagine other groups or artists covering Gabby's songs. Also, since Jill wrote most of the songs on the last two albums (In other words....most of the royalties are probably going to her.), and E.H. didn't exactly do well on the charts, I would imagine that Gabby would have to get back to work pretty soon. Kate, thanks for the reminder that we've still got, like several hours of LJ music to enjoy. The CDs haven't suddenly gone blank! And Rachel, wow, thank you SO MUCH for your insight. You are right on. To me, Jill was the mainstream popster of LJ, and Gabby, Kate and Viv were the ones pushing the band off the beaten path into funkier, more unexplored territory. I too wonder about Gabby. In the "official statement" type articles of the last few days, Jill and Kate speak, but there's no word at all from Gabrielle. Wonder if she tried to hold them together and is not OK with the split. Miles >I had imagined growing old with LJ and > would have loved to follow them on a tour. I think that when you pull them out of the whole LJ mix, those songs together could create a very moody, atmospheric live vibe. Think "Don't Look Back", "Fly", etc. and some new songs along the same lines and you have a very intense and powerful sensual experience -- an event to experience with friends, on your own, or with that special someone. So get that backing band together, Gabby. - -Mike M. Gypsy is a good one from EH...but I would love to hear Daughters of the KAOS live. Even better would be Keep on Rockin' It--if that ever happened while I was within earshot, I am certain that I would die a happy man. They hinted in an interview that they might work on it but they never actually played it (not to my knowledge, anyway). The only thing even close to a complaint that I had about the Electric Honey tour is that the set list didn't change too much from show to show. Maybe they'll dust off some of the old favorites for the reunion tour. - -Mike Morris In a message dated 4/6/00 12:59:44 PM Eastern Daylight Time, ArtaudJr@aol.com writes: > I totally agree, Mike. I don't know why exactly, but I'm convinced she'd be an excellent producer: she's always been so good with samples, beats and bass lines (eg. Electric, Friends). She brought alot of warmth to the records. I also read somewhere (?) she wanted to do a song in spanish. Now THAT would be interesting. >Like I said yesterday, it will be *really* interesting >to see what Gabby goes on to do, since she really has >not (as far as I know) worked on projects outside of >LJ.
