LJ-wise, my prefered dance tunes are "Let Yourself Get Down" and "One Thing". Not that I wouldn't dance to any of their other songs mind you, although "Stardust" would be a bit of a stretch. The DJ at my neighbourhood bar plays lots of LJ, and I have to say "Let Yourself Get Down" is the shit through those speakers: fabulous. Anyway, as far as DJing goes, I'd play old 80's tunes: Dead or Alive, A-ha, Siouxsie, Cure, Depeche Mode, Smiths, B-52's and so on. Even Bananarama, for God's sake and, *gasp*, Barry White. Then there would be the occasional Janis Joplin tune, along with various songs from the MC Solaar and Parliament catalogues. Add to this "Shining Road" by Cranes, "What Institution Are You From?" by Helium, "Nothing Natural" by Lush and "Ahead" by Wire. Ok, that's enough.
