I actually don't think his music is that bad, but his little "crazy rock star" persona is a bit laughable. I saw him open for LJ in New Haven and when he started climbing over amps and hanging from the netting next to the stage during one song I thought "this guy's a bit of a punk". When he did the same sort of thing during the same song in Long Island the next night, I realized it was all just a calculated act. I felt so cheap and used. :-) - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Oct 1999 08:20:21 PDT From: "someone !!" Subject: find-your-mind birch hill i'm going to the birch hill tonite as well. i have some flats and stickers and stuff to give out (items to get autographed rather than a ticket stub perhaps?) i might be late (depends on my friends) so i'll either be giving things away outside or inside, or perhaps both. come up and say hi if you see me. i'll either be wearing a pink bis shirt (it says bis on the sleeve, straight outta gifnock on the back and has 3 sillouttes on the front of the bis members) or i'll be wearing a shirt that says "kill rock stars" on the front, its white with a blue ringer. i know you are going chuck, peter i think you are going, is anyone else? as for ben lee, he makes pop music, i'm not that familiar with his stuff, but i enjoyed his noise addict stuff when he was a young teen and i liked some of his earlier work and i like some of his current work. i don't like when he jumps into the stage and the girls all attack him but whatever, thats him in rockstar mode. um i didn't say anything intelligent there, but whatever i have major amounts of shit to do today and i'm not even positive where the birch hill is! sara http://luscious.cjb.net http://seepies.cjb.net ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 08 Oct 1999 11:30:45 -0400 From: Peter Cascio Subject: Re: find-your-mind birch hill someone !! wrote: > > i'm going to the birch hill tonite as well. i have some flats and stickers > and stuff to give out (items to get autographed rather than a ticket stub > perhaps?) i might be late (depends on my friends) so i'll either be giving > things away outside or inside, or perhaps both. come up and say hi if you > see me. i'll either be wearing a pink bis shirt (it says bis on the sleeve, > straight outta gifnock on the back and has 3 sillouttes on the front of the > bis members) or i'll be wearing a shirt that says "kill rock stars" on the > front, its white with a blue ringer. > > i know you are going chuck, peter i think you are going, is anyone else? > > as for ben lee, he makes pop music, i'm not that familiar with his stuff, > but i enjoyed his noise addict stuff when he was a young teen and i liked > some of his earlier work and i like some of his current work. i don't like > when he jumps into the stage and the girls all attack him but whatever, > thats him in rockstar mode. um i didn't say anything intelligent there, but > whatever i have major amounts of shit to do today and i'm not even positive > where the birch hill is! > > sara > > http://luscious.cjb.net > http://seepies.cjb.net > > ______________________________________________________ > Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com Hey Sara: Yeah, I'll be there. I'll look for ya. I don't know what I'm wearing (a guy thing you know). But anyway, I'm not a big fan of Birch Hill. I hope Luscious gets a good crowd there. I saw them at Bergen County College once and it was terrible. Not Luscious, but the crowd. No one knew who they were. It was the first time this college ever had a concert and they blew it. I felt so bad for the ladies. I'm praying for non-repeat of that horrible evening. I think this show is sponsored by 106.3 FM and that's a good thing because I'm pretty sure they play a lot of LJ. Carlino" Subject: Fwd: find-your-mind birch hill Sara (Freakahhhhhh) ---- The Birch Hill is on Route 9. You're coming from South Jersey, right? You'll have to take Route 9 NORTH, go through Freehold, then Marlboro. At the "Texas Road" U-Turn, get onto the southbound side of 9, the sign for the club is only a few minutes from that point. Hope this helps. Cool beans about the freebees. I will definitely be the ONLY person at the club wearing a Phillies T-Shirt (probably w/ a black button-down shirt over it). I figure it's the "safe" way to go, since I'm really a Yankees fan, but there may be some Metsies in the audience. I've played there a few times and like the sound in there. The system and the layout are pretty descent too. Security will be pretty laid back but beware, theres a go-go/chippendale's bar downstairs.. Has a seperate entrance though. All you do is NJ turnpike to exit 9, Route 18 south to Route 9 south and it's on the right less than 1/4 mile down. The BirchHill can get very HOT in there though so keep that in mind when putting together your ensemble. They should have a coat check though.
