(Fwd: no they can't) I didn't say they COULD play all those instruments, etc. What I *did* say was that it would be great (IMHO) to get a basic, bare bones, guitar/drums/bass album from them.....real raw stuff... along the stylistic lines of: Surprise, Satellite, Daddy, etc. Even the punk part of Love Is Real. Just thrashing away, like their punk idols. Think about it for a sec. The Clash, when Strummer was not playing guitar but only singing, as a basic guitar/bass/drums band, as was the Police before they discovered synths. That's what I meant. One of the most impressive parts of the Philly (TLA) show last summer was when they just thrashed on Love Is Real. Just the sight of (usually) cool-and-collected-acting Jill totally playing the sh*t out of her bass, hair flying all over the place, was great. - ---- Begin Included Message ---- i dont think any of them play violin or upright bass or anything like that, the things josephine wiggs and petra haden have played on albums. i'm completely not putting down their skills as musicians, but sometimes you do need a little help from someone. sometimes you want a different voice as well in there, not just for the name recognition but for a sound. sara excuse my mood today...
