I was surprised because I'd been looking for a Ladyfingers single since before EH came out, and then I go and find cd1 and cd2, Cd1 has LF, Gridlock (the song on the elusive bonus CD) and a remix of Under Your Skin. Cd2 has LF, To Sir With Love, and a LF remix. Anyone have these and have any opinions on the new songs or the remixes? And while I'm on the topic of singles, anyone know what might be coming next? I have no idea, but I'm hoping for Nervous Breakthrough. Amy ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Jul 1999 07:46:14 -0800 From: "C.A. Carlino" Subject: Fwd: Ladyfingers Singles I'd like to know why Grand Royal has not released any DOMESTIC Ladyfingers singles in the U.S. I don't think it's fair that we have to pay at least $10 each for two import singles when LJ is a U.S.-based band. Actually, I think it sucks. While I'm on the topic of Grand Royal, I have to say that I find their GrandRoyalDirect service (the online order website) to be awful. Their customer service stinks, they are nonresponsive to e-mails, and their postage is outrageous. They can definitely learn a lot from better band-run merchandise sites, like the Grateful Dead's. On a totally unrelated note, I've been listening to *gasp* "The General's Daughter" soundtrack over the last few days and I must say I am totally addicted to it. (The movie was suprisingly good, as well) Check out some of the clips on cdnow or tower online or something like that...I am especially fond of the first track, "She Began To Lie" amd the second, "Might Good Road". They include samples from folk songs (perhaps slave songs, although I am not sure) with instrumentation and stuff over them...very cool. (tell me what you think if anyone has heard it or seen the movie). Tis all, Sarah (enduring the psycho/icky so. cal. weather....whoosh!) "C.A. The thing w/ having 3 major song-idea collaborators (no offense to Kate, who is drummer extraordinaire #1) in a band is that there's always an odd man/woman out, and I think Viv had a lot more ideas than she had an outlet to express in LJ....that plus the touring thing, but sometimes I wonder if that was just the "official" story. ??? ------------------------------ End of find-your-mind-digest V2 #73 ***********************************
