I don't quite see the point of putting an anti LJ page.  i could see if they were on the level of the backstreet boys or something but fact is they still don't sell that many records.  their not quite as mainstream as this person would like us to think. and for the record, i like fever and honey the best out of all the albums - -zac - ---- Begin Original Message ---- From: "C.A. As a guy, I hate to say it, but it's probably a guy who created that piece of garbage page...since he (?) made some really tasteless and uncalled for comments on the sexual orientation of some LJ members. I always prefer to see groups such as Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, etc. referred to as a marketing strategy in effect. I see EH as more of a regrouping effort of LJ. I think that they are adjusting to the loss of a full-time member of the group, and their creativity isn't focused as much. Now I can't say that I know how much Viv contributed to the band, but think about it...if you've just lost a collaborator on a long-term project, how would you feel? Wouldn't you pull back a bit, be a bit more conservative? I personally, would pull my punches, since it's like a brand new effort when you have one less head to come together with. I admire Kate, Jill, and Gab for sticking together. It's so easy to just give up when one person turns in; it's obvious to me that LJ are more interested in making music than making money, when they work through personnel changes and stuff like that. The greats can do it; who says LJ can't walk among them? - --Steve ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 07 Jul 1999 15:32:40 -0800 From: "C.A. Carlino" Subject: Vivian (was, Fwd: Re: Virgin Megastore = Hypocrites) I used to think her contributions weren't noteworthy, but now I realize that she contributed a *great deal* to FIFO, which in many ways was a continuation of the Kostars project, which is probably her greatest achievement up to this point (and I mean that in a GOOD way, as I feel the Kostars album is exceedingly beautiful). The thing w/ having 3 major song-idea collaborators (no offense to Kate, who is drummer extraordinaire #1) in a band is that there's always an odd man/woman out, and I think Viv had a lot more ideas than she had an outlet to express in LJ....that plus the touring thing, but sometimes I wonder if that was just the "official" story. ??? - ---- Begin Included Message ---- Whoa...that's harsh.
