Is this the right address Mark? I went there, clicked on the videoclips, but they're from the 98 show and all I saw was the clip for the PSA that Gabby and Kate did. Where's the Naked Eye clip from this year's show? I can't find it and I'm dying to see it seeing how I missed the show this year in person. :( Why can't they have it around New York?! :) If you or anyone can help me out please post to the mailing list or email me directly. And if so, what did you think of it. I thought it was awfully short. For those who missed it, you didn't miss much. There were a bunch of people in the room who had no clue what was going on and cluttered the screen with stupid questions and requests for cyber sex. I don't remember seeing anything that would qualify as newsworthy. If anyone wants to go looking for it, I think yahoo or sonicnet or whoever sponsored the chat has transcripts the day after. The "Ladyfingers" video is wonderful. I especially love the scenes on the NYC bus. Anyone know where the open field they played in is? Beautiful greenery there, huh? BTW... Sara (Freaker) --- the check is in the mail tomorrow. Sorry, but I've been under the weather. Cheers. - --------C PS - Anyone pre-order Electric Honey through the Grand Royal Direct website? Thanks so much! You really are such a sweetie. Brooklyn Botanical Garden? Cool. I used to live in both the Bronx *and* Brooklyn, and the Botanical Garden in the Bronx (near the Zoo and Fordham U.) is also beautiful. BTW... Did any of the LJ gals grow up in Brooklyn? As far as I know, Gabby and Kate grew up downtown (Manhattan), but what about Jill? As for how I've been feeling, it turns out I have Lyme Disease, and I'm on heavy duty antibiotics to clear the fuckers out of my system. I am totally drained. Stay cute & cool.... I've put the following pre-review up on a few websites, basically to get the troops drooling. Just so you all don't have to search like mad for it (the review), here it is, warts and all..... ***************************************************************** What Does a Manhattan Summer Sound Like? If I had to describe what Summer in sweltering New York City sounds like, I’d compare it to the music of Luscious Jackson. Judging from the 4-song advance promo teaser I have for their forthcoming album, "Electric Honey," the ladies of LJ are definitely not standing still, but did they ever? Let me just say that if the remaining 11 tunes are anything like the ones here – Ladyfingers (Perhaps you’ve already heard this one on the radio or seen the wonderful video on MTV… you know, the one on the Manhattan bus?), Christine, Summer Daze and Gypsy – we are in for something special. The playing’s great, the writing’s great, and the singing’s great. Definitely pick this one up when it comes out on June 29th. (C.A. The address is correct (http://www.tibet99.com/flashNo/concert/live/index.html). After you choose your connection speed you just hit the two arrows to the right of that pulldown menu. You'll get a list of all the clips for the '99 show. Having said that, the video portion of the LJ clip didn't appear to be working correctly. A couple of distorted stills popped up while the audio was playing, but that's it. Oh well. - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 17:53:40 -0400 From: rachel Subject: blah am so loving the cibo album anyway was watching an old seinfeld the other day with "janice" from friends and she reminded me so much of gabby from lj lookswise, you know just thought i'd throw that out toodles - --rachel p.s.: people with advanced copies/promos suck ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 20:20:06 PDT From: Kate Yerves Subject: various LJ related things... Hey! Rachel...I always thought that girl reminded me of Gabby too! haha. She does! She was also in the first season of Ellen when it was called "These Friends of Mine" as well as appearing on Seinfeld and a the recurring role on Friends. That girl is pretty cool...anyone know her name? Anyway...thanks for the info Mike...I'll try the Tibetan site/clips soon. I don't have any promo CD's except the Ladyfingers single. I'm tempted to get Electric Honey but I'm making myself wait and instead giving my money to Grand Royal. :) I pre-ordered the CD so I could get a signed copy but I will probably end up buying it anyway on the 29th cause GR won't be mailing it until that day or after and also because I don't want to wreck the autographed copy. heheheh...by the way...If anyone wants Electric Honey or the Ladyfingers on vinyl... CD Now is selling both and will ship them once they come in. I ordered both. I collect their vinyl stuff...it sounds a little bit different but in a cool way. haha I finally caught the Ladyfingers video on 120 minutes last Sunday and thankfully had my VCR recording. I was so happy and the video rocks. It's just so happy and pretty...a feel-good video to go with a feel good-song. I want to see those gardens in Brooklyn! I think they they touched up the backgrounds though with computer generation...looks a little fake. :) Tamra Davis is so cool though. I hope to work with her someday and the LJ girls too. I would love to make a video with/for them. :) OK...this is long enough! Hope everyone is doing well and sorry to hear about your illness, Chuck. Get well soon! I know what it's like to be sick...have been for most of the past 5 months with various things...still trying to get better. We'll see what happenes when I go back to the Ears, Nose and Throat Specialist on Monday. blah! OK...Bye!
