Both of these don't mix well with the wine & cheese set that the Lilith organizers were trying to attract. Luscious Jackson rocks out in concert, and they're on the bill for at least some Lilith shows....... so maybe Sarah and/or the organizers just don't like Plumtree's non-acoustic stuff. Also, the Indigos aren't just acoustic. I've seen them playing electric instruments and rocking somewhat. - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum (end of original message) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can view this message and the related discussion by following this link: http://www.dejanews.com/=zzz_maf/dnquery.xp?search=thread&svcclass=dnserver&recnum=%3c6skb4l$fr8$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com%3e%231/1 We hope to see you soon at Deja News, the discussion network. http://www.dejanews.com/=zzz_maf/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Sep 1998 18:13:21 -0400 (EDT) From: spastica@villagenet.com (lepainperdu) Subject: Jill Sang and Tracy Bonham played At NY Suffragette Show this is a major review So im outside thinking wouldn't it be great if Jill got on stage and played a song. I told my friends and they agreed :) I now believe i am a true psychic or something. So we get in and I'm a monstrous fan and i kept yelling for Sugar from Buffalo Daughter (their last show in us) and i kept screaming for daisy (a song). yumiko smiled at me and laughed. My friend kept yelling i love you. I have never seen so much lesbian lovin' in my life, thats all i have to say. I was quite frightened because some were really large and big and kept checking my friend (a chick with purple hair out). She was quite scared. But anyway there were few people dancing other than me and my friend. My guess is the people who came to see acoustic guitars were not happy. I thought i was going to have a heart attack since the mmooooggg was so heavy duty and i was in front of the speaker. The girls were really into their music which made some of the people enjoy it to. Anyways they finished their set and were putting their stuff and the backstage door was open and i talked to yumiko which was kewl and i told her about my butter 08 site and told them that they were amazing that night. I don't think they understood or if they did they seemed scared with some 16yr old guy coming up to them out of nowhere. Then funniest thing about the whole Buffalo Daughter performance was the Indigo Girls followers were all holding their ears. I just looked around and everyone was holding their ears because the sound was so strong! I loved it! It was great!!! 30 mintues goes by Alright so hmm. Jill comes on stage and i start freaking out and they play Under Your Skin. Jill was all crazy and had a tamborine and i was about to cry. It was so great. So the next song was by Thayil zdadek or something to that matter. i know she is from "come" and i loved that song and i will have to get the album. Jean Smith is wacked out of her head and everyone in the crowd starting laughing including me. I started crying beacuse it was so funny. I started hissing because she would be satan if there was one. She kept talking about "why don't we talk about this another time, i forgot what i was doing" it was hysterical. I think the point that she was so funny and evil that i liked her even more. Jane Siberry was very dancey. Where the hell was josephine? She was having way too much fun backstage. Then Tracy Bonham got onstage and played a few songs, one of her own, and it sounded really good, i love her now. Her and Lisa Germano doubled violins and it sounded great as the double bass did with gail and j. I thought it was quite rocking and that kostars song was amazing, just amazing. The cover of david bowie's song was great also. The crowd was really into. surprisingly, i do not like the indigo girls, yet last night they were great, well the songs of there's were great. the really rocked and the crowd loved them. i look at them differently now. the big highlight was seeing josephine playing cannonball. I was waiting for it hopefully to be played and i was doubting it since well she isn't in the breeders anymore. I remeber watching the stage and hearing "Ahhooooowahh" and i and my friend cried out in agony. Kate did the little drum thing at the beginning which i love. I thought i was going to pop through the ceiling. It was one of the most beautiful concerts. I'm glad it was the last show which made it even more special. Everyone got out and sang and played Midnight Train To Georgia by Gladys Night and the Pips. Jill had to run on stage in the middle of the song. I'm not sure what she was doing. peter "The Butter08 Site" http://members.tripod.com/~butterof69/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 04 Sep 1998 13:36:35 -0700 From: "Summer Song" Subject: Heather Nova?
