He opened with a fiery ?The Spell Is Broken?, then ?Walking On A Wire? and ?Waiting For Valerie? (fabulous). One that I hadn?t heard before was apparently called ?Northern Wind?, then ?The Drones(?)? a song about hanky-panky on a ceilidh(?) cruise, followed by a request for ?Cold Kisses? (he had to ask for audience assistance on one verse), then the peerless ?Vincent Black Lightning? after which my pen gave out. Downside: my feeling was that the version of ?Wall Of Death? was a bit ordinary; and for some reason he did the dirgey ?Down Where The Drunkards Roam? rather than the more lively ?Don?t Step On My Jimmy Shands? for one of the encores. The witty cover version of the night was Frank Loessor?s Hamlet. Betty Hutton version from 1949: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwkYXqHGDhI Richard Thompson recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHz40NesM9o&feature=related Other memorable songs were ?Who Knows Where The Time Goes? (a tribute to Sandy Denny), ?Misunderstood?, ?Crawl Back (Crawl Back) under my stone? (complete with echo effect), ?She Twists The Knife Again? and ?Keep Your Distance?. I had a look on the web for a full setlist, but haven?t seen one so far. - - Mike Godwin ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V19 #174 ********************************
