I was really looking forward to hearing the whole of "Eye" given the treatment of "Tromso" with cello. . . . Robyn re-opens Eye To commemorate its 21st anniversary, RH plays a definitive version of his second entirely solo record EYE, at St. Leonard's Church in Shoreditch, London on Saturday, November 26th. First released in 1990, and subsequently in various formats (most recently by YepRoc), the record has contained different track selections. In this show where RH will be joined by Jenny Adejayan on cello, and Lucy Parnell & Jen Macro on harmonies, he will attempt to present a 'director's cut' of the piece. Doors are at 7:30pm. TICKETS are #15 in advance HERE. RH plays two EYE shows solo in the US the week before the London show: San Francisco (where the album was recorded) at Slim's November 17th, and Brooklyn, NY at The Bell House (early show) on November 19th. <-----Original Message-----> >From: lep [softboygirl@gmail.com] >Sent: 11/20/2011 1:26:53 AM >To: fegmaniax@smoe.org;fegmaniax-announce@smoe.org >Subject: Re: Fwd: NEW on DIME: Robyn Hitchcock - The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY USA November 19, 2011 >Aud Master > >I'm not sure what the hold up was, but FINALLY, it's up... > > > >---------- Forwarded message ---------- >From: DIME >Date: Sun, Nov 20, 2011 at 12:57 AM >Subject: NEW on DIME: Robyn Hitchcock - The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY >USA November 19, 2011 Aud Master >To: DIME > > > >A new torrent has been uploaded to DIME. > >Torrent: 382593 >Title: Robyn Hitchcock - The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY USA November >19, 2011 Aud Master >Size: 570.66 MB >Category: Folk >Uploaded by: madelf > >Info hash: e301ebd02834accbe6f6ab109c4ef519810eeac6 > >Description >----------------------------------------------------------------------- - -------- >Robyn Hitchcock - The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY > >November 19, 2011 > >audience master > >Edirol R-09 w/ 2 audio technica AT-831b mics > wavelab 6 > TLH >(to fix SBE and Flac encoding to level 8) > make torrent 2 > Dime > > >1-Cynthia Mask >2-Queen Elvis* >3-Flesh Cartoons >4-Robyn chatter >5-Chinese Water Python >6-Robyn chatter >7-The Executioner >8-Robyn chatter >9-Sweet Ghost Of Light >10-Robyn chatter >11-Linctus House >12-Transparent Lover >13-Robyn chatter >14-Beautiful Girl >15-Scott's intro & Robyn chatter >16-Clean Steve*^ >17-Raining Twilight Coast >18-Glass Hotel >19-Robyn chatter >20-Agony Of Pleasure >21-Robyn chatter >22-Satellite >23-The Aquarium >24-encore break- >25-Robyn chatter >26-One Long Pair Of Eyes >27-Robyn chatter >28-Madonna Of The Wasps ** >29-Ole Tarantula ** > >* w/ Sean Nelson >^ w/ Scott McCaughey >** w/ The Minus 5 > >The recording came out rather well despite a talker right in front of >my mics and the crowd being overdriven due to it being promarily an >acoustic show. >Turn down your volume inbetween songs. There's not really that direct of a stylistic link between Robyn and R.E.M. I'm probably one of the cliche-type people of '80s college rock who actually did find out about Robyn through R.E.M. (picked up GoF because I read a review mentioning Pete Buck's involvement but which also made the record itself sound like something I'd really like). But that was in the very early days of my interest in pop music, and things moved so quickly in those days. It was probably a four month arc from deciding that I liked Talking Heads and R.E.M. to full-blown immersion in most everything I still like today (see the college rock charts for those months, subtract the Smiths and Depeche Mode records, add VU, Dylan, Neil Young back catalogs, simmer gently for the next 25 years or so). ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Dec 2011 10:18:07 -0800 From: Tom Clark Subject: Re: iTunes, and burning CDRs and DVD-Rs What's the question? iTunes still allows disc burning. - -tc On Dec 11, 2011, at 7:54 AM, Harold Lepidus wrote: > I know this was discussed here a while ago. > Was a solution ever posted? > My guess is that Apple is trying to move away > from physical discs altogether so we all float toward the iCloud ... > Will I now have to purchase some more hardware to burn CDs and DVDs? > Thanks in advance! > > > Harold Lepidus > Bob Dylan Examiner > Facebook > Twitter @DylanExaminer ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V19 #123 ********************************
