Oh please please let there be an RH/Calexico/Howe album. Please! Maybe they'll slip off to Nashville and toss one off in a weekend. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2011 09:58:44 -0500 (CDT) From: David Witzany Subject: Stuff about the Internet Stuff below. - ---- Original message ---- > >Date: Sun, 27 Mar 2011 10:21:19 -0700 >From: M Holden >Subject: Re: recent concerts > >Stewart replied enthusiastically: >> Sure was. They ended the show by marching everyone out to the parking lot, as they played, and finished with a sing- along on the tarmac. The audience request song was "Octopus's Garden". That SG really was a thing of beauty. Also a song called, interestingly, "This Is an Elephant Song". > >Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2011 03:25:31 -0400 >From: lep >Subject: reap > >paul baran, early internet (arpanet) engineer, 84 > >http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/28/technology/28baran.html?_r=1&smid=tw- nytimestech&seid=auto > Very interesting. My earliest memories of computers are going with my Dad to job sites where he worked on Univac big iron. I remember the long banks of tape drives and the large consoles with all the tantalizing buttons. I only ever got to actually push the ones to mount new tapes... Dave. Yeah, Beeps is the best. I think that this week marks the 10th anniversary of my being a feg. I know, I know, I'm a list newbie (though a fangirl oldie). I really am happy that I found you all. I've met some fegs in person and have "spoken" to many others in sidebar conversations. I've read books, seen films, investigated other music, gotten advice (including a blow-by-blow of the Chicago loop) only because of you all. No, I'm off the Vicodin. This is just me being sappy. God save Robyn Hitchcock and all his followers. I think I have watched 20 episodes of Law and Order since Sunday.
