I guess I'll have to buy the Definitive Remaster (No This Time We Got The Right Fucking Tapes) when it becomes available. I guess I'm bugged that they have already botched this one several ways. Is this instead of the proposed Soft Boys box? Why are the bonus tracks only available as digital downloads? Why am I typing this to express my frustration instead of relaxing with a beer? Oh, because I have to head back out to work now. Right. Later, Marc Speaking of, was anyfeg successful in downloading the CoB digital extras from yeproc? I entered the code but they're not in my "stash" and when I went to enter the code again it said it was already used. - -tc ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 2010 6:45:05 -0700 From: M Holden Subject: re: video Try the forum at b3ta. I was going to suggest that, but you might end with things you really can't ever unsee. - -- http://scruss.com/blog/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 2010 15:05:32 -0700 From: Tom Clark Subject: Record Club Submission http://files.me.com/tclark/ltfs4d password: feggy James Kirk - "You Can Make It If You Boogie" This is one of my favorite albums of the past ten years which I came upon totally by chance when I flipped on KFJC while driving to work one day. I didn't know a whole lot about Orange Juice other than Edwyn Collins' involvement so to have James Kirk put out a solo record out of the blue like this pretty much insured that I would know nothing about it. Glad I found - hope you like it too. - -tc ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Oct 2010 21:11:05 -0400 From: Harold Lepidus Subject: REAP Pontiac, 84, Dies of Indifference http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/30/business/30pontiac.html?_r=1&partner=rss&em c=rss&pagewanted=all Harold Lepidus Bob Dylan Examiner Twitter Facebook ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Oct 2010 12:24:41 +1300 From: grutness@slingshot.co.nz Subject: REAP Records Records, RIP. The longest-lasting second-hand record store in the South Island, and perhaps the single most important non-gig venue in Dunedin music history. Run from the late 1970s by Roi Colbert until he became ill about five years ago, it became the hang-out centre for Dunedin music. Bands were formed there, shared their musical interests, exchanged information. Roi became Dunedin's Flying Nun agent, and the shop became the centre for new New Zealand music in the city. Since Roi left, it's been a shadow of its former self, eventually moving from the central city's Stuart Street Terrace to lower Princes Street. And now, it's gone - lease up, "closng sale" notices ont he window. I'm going to really miss it, having beern a customer since 1980, and the city's music scene as a whole is definitely going to miss it too.
