Jones" Subject: I need the feg-hive-mind to help me with my concertgoing issues Okay, so.... Robyn is playing 2 shows in one night here in Portland on September 29th, one at 7:30 and one at 10pm. I'm tempted to go to both, but I would only want to attend both if each one is unique in terms of setlist. What are the chances of that do you think? It's an odd tour to begin with, given that Robyn is co-headlining with Joe Boyd, Joe will be reading passages from his book during the gig, and Robyn evidently will be playing cover songs that tie in with Joe's book. I'm guessing that since there are already lots of constraints to the art of this show, that the two sets might only vary by a song or two and then whatever wild banter or conversation that occurs between both artists in between songs. Then it becomes a matter of which set to go to. I once went to an early show at The Woods and it felt weird! It was still sunny when the concert ended. Now that's just plain wrong. BUT, I'm such geriatric-to-be that if I go to the later show I'm liable to fall asleep. HAHAHAHA You see the conundrums I'm faced with? I should see an analyst, right? :-) Feggily yours, JBJ p.s. Maybe the main reason I sent this message was to see if any fegs are making the trek to Portland for these shows. Or to see which show(s) the local folks are gonna attend. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Sep 2010 14:51:00 -0400 From: Jeremy Osner Subject: Robyn and Joe Boyd at GAMH I heard from a friend that Joe Boyd is going to be reading from his book White Bicycles this Weds at Great American Music Hall in SF, with Robyn providing musical accompaniment. Anybody going? Sounds like fun. J ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V18 #176 ********************************
