The eartquake woke me up at half past four this morning - it was looooong (over a minute) and it felt like the bed was in a railway carriage. A couple of small things fell of shelves, but nothing got broken. The epicentre was about 250 miles north of here, and it sounds like there's quite a bit of damage around Christchurch, but other than a lack of sleep from 4.30 onwards, no damage here.
