This is Por Favor, a compilation by Los Shakers. Los Shakers released albums between 1965 and 1968. They were Uruguay's answer to The Beatles. I apologize for the size of it - I've added a few tracks from the Worldbeaters compilation and their final album, "The Secret Conference at Toto's Bar", because their music is difficult to find. Por Favor has been out of print for years. It, and most of their LPs now go for collector's prices if you can find them. I hope you like it. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BH8IHATQ Terrence Marks ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Jul 2010 11:04:46 +0000 From: Michael Sweeney Subject: Re: FY everywhere TC Well-done, Tom! They're quoting *ME* like some sorta an expert?," and "Ooh - who can I show this too?!?" Pretty cool... Interesting phenomenon...the way the net convention of displaying links in a different color can sometimes cause syntactical shearing-off like that, where "conversation" is lopped from the clause because, visually, it looks like it belongs somewhere else. > > I remember the first time I saw something quoting something I had written - > ya > wanna look around and simultaneously go "Hey, did that just happen?," "Me? > They're quoting *ME* like some sorta an expert?," and "Ooh - who can I show > this too?!?" Even weirder when, say ten years after the fact, you're googling something or other, come across a link that looks interesting, start reading it...and get most the way through it before realizing that, hey, you wrote it yourself, ten years ago. I don't think Terrence is out of turn at all, but we do need a schedule. I was thinking about going next myself, but I kept holding off, in fear of clicking "Send" just as another Feg did the same and thus creating mass Feglistening chaos. While some of youse might be in favor of mass Feglistening chaos, part of the lure of this for me was that it would be a reasonably orderly, nondemanding process where we'd have at least a couple of weeks to listen, absorb, and write. Rex, you were gathering the "who wants to participate" info, right? If not, or if you find that you don't have the time right now to organize this, I can try to do it.
