Jeremy Osner says: > Anybody know the title of the violin piece (not sure 'zackly what the > instrumentation is, it might actually be a whole orchestra -- the > violin is prominent) that plays at the opening of "Woyzcek" is? i'm glad ferris answered as my answer would have been "the idiot." which is of course wrong because that wasn't "woyzcek"; it was "stroszek." BTW, although i do love what i've seen of herzog's films and herzog himself, i haven't seen any of the movies from his "wretched, lonely towns the were" period. and, sadly, not much of his work with klaus kinski (highly recommended: "my best fiend: klaus kinski": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200849/ now kinski *seems* like the obvious choice for the wacko of the pair, but you kind of have to wonder mr. saner guy kept hiring and hanging out with the self-professed antichrist. or was that the self-professed resurrection of jesus? Of course, it came from the nominally socialist UK, where they have a "mail service" funded by tax dollars confiscated from a helpless populace too cowed to resist such an immoral practice. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Mar 2010 07:36:30 +0100 From: Sebastian Hagedorn Subject: Re: Hey! - -- Rex is rumored to have mumbled on 25. Yep, I bet that's it -- a (period instruments) string quartet appeared onscreen later on in the movie playing another song, and it seemed to me like they must be the performers that had been playing over the title. Thanks for letting me know their name! Dear Fegs, Periodically I become re-obsessed with Elizabeth Elmore of Sarge and The Reputation. I have entered that phase again and wonder if I can tap into the wealth of knowledge often found here. I have done a cursory review of stuff available on the webs, but perhaps there is more to know in her locale. If anyone here (Chicagoans, Upper-Midwesterners) has any idea what she is up to these days, I would appreciate the help.
