JEHOVAHKILL and 20 MOTHERS are on my short list of the >best of that decade, So anyways, I was in Grimey's the day before yesterday, and I spotted a two-disc deluxe JEHOVAHKILL, which I could not leave the store without. Closer inspection in the car revealed that it was a 2006 C.E. edition, so either I was too mesmerized by Christina Hendricks' cleavage (which at that point I would have been viewing in FIREFLY or homemade VHS tapes of BEGGARS AND CHOOSERS) to have noticed Feg discussion of same, or it wasn't talked about here. Haven't listened to the bonus disc yet, which contains eight "previously unreleased" tracks, but the main disc is glorious. I'm once again struck by how many Sons of Dead Jim Morrisons I love, even though I have little use for the original article. Are there two-disc reissues of anything besides PEGGY SUICIDE and JEHOVAHKILL? Of course, this only makes me want 20 MOTHERS and AUTOGEDDON. Oh, and the clerk at Grimey's - which is staffed by super-knowledgable folk, so I'm attributing this to age more than intelligence: (1) thought Jehovahkill was the artist (understandable given the cover/slipcover setup). (2) once told the artist was Julian Cope, said "oh, he's that guy who wrote the book on Krautrock, right?" Which of course is right, but it did kind of surprise me that he knew Cope the Author but not Cope the Musician. Oh, and I was wrong about MAD MEN. JERSEY SHORE is the Best. TV. Show. The photos are of Bob Dylan on a European tour circa mid-60s. These photos have never been seen before so the book is significant. Interestingly enough, while I printed yet another copy of the book tonight, I noticed something else significant (well, to us Fegs only perhaps)... Many of the photos of Dylan find him in a POLKA DOT shirt... Coincidence??? Just thinking... - - c ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V18 #15 *******************************
