(i would, however, give somebody all the robyn tapes, without forcing the non-robyns upon them...) it'd be nice if somebody would be willing to not only give them a good home; but also to digitise and upload some of them to archive.org. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Jan 2010 18:47:31 -0800 From: Rex Subject: Time enough at last I: what this is called, and II: why. Eerily reminiscent of one of my own crap student films from way back. So much so that it took seven minutes or so to decide that it was just a coincidence and not some British knockoff of me own hard wyrk. http://brixsmithsvolumeradargordonbottom.blogspot.com/2009/12/not-only-in-afterglow.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 9 Jan 2010 01:08:12 EST From: HwyCDRrev@aol.com Subject: craig ferguson seems extra funny tonight . . I only listened to the 30-second bits on iTunes, but that gave me the same impression ... I like choral music a lot, but these arrangements didn't work for me. - -- Sebastian Hagedorn Am alten Stellwerk 22, 50733 Kvln, Germany http://www.uni-koeln.de/~a0620/ "Being just contaminates the void" - Robyn Hitchcock ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 09 Jan 2010 09:34:37 -0500 From: "Stewart C. I like the CD but I don't love it, and since I am such a choral music fan, I'm probably more predisposed to enjoying this kind of endeavor than most other people. I haven't been wild about Ray'srecent solo stuff either, so I'm not expecting much these days. We got some Graham Parker on CD that we had only had on vinyl for years. It's been fun re-discovering Another Gray Area and The Up Escalator. I've been listening to that and Patrick Watson a bunch. I saw the choral project as a rather desperate effort to cash in by somebody whose recent (and quite decent, IMO) work is being ignored. I quite liked Workingman's Cafe. ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V18 #4 ******************************
