I can understand many of the choices, though there are more obvious iconic images for the groups in 1a and 1e, and 1d seems an odd choice. Why not DSOTM or WYWH for Pink Floyd; or Tattoo You, Sticky Fingers, or Aftermath, for the Stones? As for Primal Scream, yeees, but I would have expected at least one album by a woman artist - "Hounds of Love", maybe, or "Sweet dreams are made of this". And it's all very white, too... They may have been added tomake sure they weren't all English bands, but one Scottish band and no Welsh of NI bands seems a bit think. Other possible worthies missed that the UKPO should perhaps consider for a later series: "Armed forces", "Hatful of hollow", "Disraeli gears", "Goodbye yellow brick road", "What's the story, morning glory", "Regatta de blanc", "OK Computer:, "Hounds of love", "Queen II", "Sweet dreams are made of this", "Breakfast in America", "Tommy", "Fragile", "The Specials", "Iron Maiden"... hell, the list is endless for iconic covers by big-name Brit artists. it's possible that there were copyright issues with some of the others. >The British are different from you and me. > >as ever, >Lauren at least you didn't say "different than" ;) James - -- James Dignan, Dunedin, New Zealand -.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.-=-.- =-.-=-.-=-.- You talk to me as if from a distance .-=-.-=-.-=-. -=-.
