I didn't think they had it in them at this late date. It's got a very good chance to be in my top 10 for 2009. Next up in the listening queue, Son Volt - American Central Dust. Her first rock concert! (We only stayed around about 5 songs worth as it started getting too loud for her young ears...) The band performing turned out to actually be The Baseball Project due to the absence of Ramberg and Reiflin, and the presence of Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon -- Pitmon seems on first listen like a really excellent drummer. The instruments they were playing surprised me a bit; Buck was playing bass and McCaughey rhythm guitar and Wynn lead -- turns out Buck is fantastic on bass, I was mildly disappointed because I had been anticipating hearing him play guitar... Everyone was in great form. Funniest song I heard was "Ted Fucking Williams". I listen to it once or twice a year at the beginning of baseball season. - -tc ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V17 #244 ********************************
