All I can say is "eesh!" I'm a not really a fan of Billy Bob Thorton, but I am a fan of the host. No set list, as I didn't write it down, and concerts drain right out of my head. I Often Dream of Trains was the opener, not solo, although the rest of the band didn't do a whole lot. Earl, along with cone and crocodile pals, was on a bar stool to Robyn's right. The three of them guard against illegal parking. After Brent Best did a few songs about getting drunk, a movie screen came down in front of the stage and we got to see some Fischerspooner videos. This one was not too bad, and sounded almost spot-on over the sound system. RH&tV3 Granada photos . Peter was not wearing his Anti-Clark (or not) t-shirt when I saw him and Scott out in front of the Granada, bringing some food in a white paper sack from the place across the street. - - Steve __________ I can't resist an anime that includes a small, cute, violence prone girl with a scythe. - John ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Apr 2009 23:23:19 -0500 From: Steve Schiavo Subject: Gad (NR) . - - Steve __________ I can't resist an anime that includes a small, cute, violence prone girl with a scythe. - John ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Apr 2009 23:27:35 -0500 From: Steve Schiavo Subject: Granada video Looks like it's a bit too early for Robyn, but every show is supposed to be "on YouTube." - - Steve __________ Mojo: If push comes to shove, what is your all-time favourite album? Harry Shearer: Right now it would be Apple Venus by XTC. Every fucking song on that record is a killer, and I just think it's Beatles-esque in the best sense of the term. Look at some of these lines and tell me I'm imagining things: The dirt path which led to the madhouse unfolds itself once again like the eyes of Edna Lieberman... And they shine afresh for you the eyes of Edna behind the ring of fire which was once the dirt path, the trail you traversed by night, back and forth, once and once again, searching for her or perhaps searching for your shadow. You awaken silently and the eyes of Edna are there.... But her eyes are the lighthouse which pierces your silence. Her eyes are like the ideal book of geography: maps of the pure nightmare.... Reminiscent of Leonora Carrington's writing. On the other hand, I went on a jag yesterday and played that tune maybe half a dozen times till I was asked to desist, and all I really had ears for was "Mucky the Pig is out on a limb/Looking for someone to investigate him." These things really piss me off. I'm still waiting for someone to explain how my seven-year-long crappy first marriage in some way possessed some "sanctity" that would've been compromised by two other people I don't know having a decent one. - -Rex ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V17 #110 ********************************
