Did anyone else hear this? (And my digest-only apologies if someone already hit this...) During pre-game NBC Super Bowl coverage, in a profile of (IIRC) Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals receiver whose father is a sportswriter...and whose mother died while he was on the outs with her), they play Nick Drake's "Fly" (I think it is), with the line about "second grace." Very nice and unexcpected...even for a few seconds... Michael "I heard Nick Drake...and he was surprised..." Recently, because of my work with developmentally disabled adults, I've had to see some fairly lame movies that have Journey prominently in the soundtrack (seems like they were "Yes Man" and "Bedtime Stories"). But even worse, at one theater, before the movies started, they had some pre-show "entertainment" which included the Chipmunks singing "Don't Stop Believing". Man, I was considering puncturing my own eardrums. Just in case you're really into regurgitation, here's a link to get you there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pSOPWZ3iDg Sorry about that, Marc btw--thanks to Steve for posting the info on the new 13th Floor Elevators box. It's going to be very tempting, even though I have a majority of the material already. Not too bad a price for 10 discs and a book. n.p.--Ike & Tina Turner--Only Women Bleed ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2009 07:02:37 -0800 From: kevin studyvin Subject: Re: REAP semi-scare... The new ipod will not shuffle albums from the main menu (the "Shuffle Songs" option); it will only shuffle albums from within a playlist. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a workaround? I really enjoyed selecting "shuffle albums" for my entire ipod -- what I would end up with was a handful of random songs, followed by a full album, followed by another song or two, etc .etc. I'd hate to have to make a playlist of my entire ipod just to try to make it like my older ipod, but if I have to, I will. (but i will *sigh* first.) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2009 16:38:10 EST From: HwyCDRrev@aol.com Subject: Re: shh! groundhogs at work busy getting springsteen tickets and/or over the super bowl :-D my blog is "Yer Blog" http://fab4yerblog.blogspot.com/ http://robotsarestealingmyluggage.blogspot.com/ In a message dated 2/2/2009 3:52:45 P.M. I find it weird that when I set it to shuffle albums, it only works if I select a playlist first. Otherwise, it'll still revert to shuffling songs.
