And there will be no Morris, either, unless there's been a change of plan. If you want to see Morris, then you'll need to head on down to the gig at the Fleece - a great place to see them play, in any case. It's going to be great, though. I'm hoping to make it to Birmingham, London, and Bristol. Maybe Cambridge, too. "Ebony Eyes" on Sirius yesterday...I just turned my radio on this morning and heard (even on the "Deep Tracks" rock station) F.Mac's "Hypnotized" followed by the solo "Hot Love, Cold World"...so I thought, uh-oh -- I'll bet Bob Welch is dead... Quick checking online disproved that (and, anyway, by the time the second song was over, the satellite DJ just said it was a solo-group 2-fer from BW)... ...I still think reactions like that come from hearing (and still remembering) the radio reactions in fall '80 (when I was a freshman in college) when the death of first John Bonham, then John Lennon inspired sudden tribute sets on rock stations (and, of course, in Lennon's case, many non-stop hours of Beatles / solo songs). It still happens when I hear a few related songs together -- especially involving artists like Welch that you don't hear every day (even considering the wider variety of satellite radio) -- that my first thought is "Oh -- did he / she / someone die?" Michael "Although I certainly wouldn't mind having to sit through 'Don't Stop Believing' and 'Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'' to hear resulting bad news about Steve Perry (or, frankly, ANY member of Journey -- even the former-Santana member(s)...)"
