I mean, I knew 4SJ was getting up there. I remember avidly consuming my uncle's copies of Famous Monsters as a kid and sucking up all the great film stills & terrible jokes. I'll never forget a grainy B&W photo (the only kind he could afford to print, of course) of the monster from This Island Earth that scared the crap out of me. He was definitely a great curator of American trash culture & somebody ought to see to it that his library gets donated to the Smithsonian. Somewhere in the 90s I read a mystery novel by Greg Kihn (remember him?) that featured 4SJ as one of its primary characters - don't remember the title tho. Concerned parties should celebrate Forry's memory by attending a double bill of She Thing and I Was a Teenage Werewolf. So...Harlan Ellison's still around, right? It's fascinating how hearing a song in a different arrangement can demonstrate how good a songwriter Robyn is (not that we weren't aware of that). - -- ...Jeff Norman The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Dec 2008 14:17:16 +0000 From: craigie* Subject: Re: One Christmas Wish There's a bit of a problem with CD 4 - five of the mp3's are nothing but whitenoise...
