Embarrassing, that. Related (to that, but not to the paper squid), the poignant moments of parting with one's records come in surprising forms... I'm fairly okay packing up my Bunnymen box set (sort of), but I got a real pang looking over all the hideously mangled song titles on my original Island CD's of the Cale records... "Talking It All Away" indeed. - -Rex ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Aug 2008 14:37:53 -0500 (CDT) From: Capuchin Subject: Re: Near REAP(?) Apparently the 1997 Maxima has unprecedented steering wheel-to-belt buckle clearance. The Apples In Stereo killed on The Colbert Report last night. 2. That Paris Hilton campaign commercial is insanely funny. Reminiscent of the Firesign Theatre in their heyday. 3. Just found out that Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue has been reissued as a double CD with the tracks from the unfinished Bambu. 4. The Thomas Kinkade store in the Westlake Mall has been closed, so I don't have to look at that abomination any more. (Check out this item http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/25/PKPP11P3II.DTL for a hilarious equation of Kinkade with Dale Chihuly, another kitschmeister I, at least, could do without.) ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V16 #678 ********************************
