It's just that I missed the bit where he shared the in-joke that when he mugs furiously, we are all supposed to laugh. But then I could just be bitter about being scammed out of an autoharp on craigslist this evening. The seats always sucked. They are the only band that I only ever saw in arena-type settings. Usually I have discovered bands that I like before they got big (U2 comes to mind) or the bands that I have liked have never made it out of smaller venues. Is of Montreal destined for the Boston Garden. I think not. Now Sting makes me want to, in the words of Bill Parcells, vomit in my mouth a little bit, so I won't be faced with a concert-going dilemma involving him anytime soon. Oh, and we watched Grey Gardens tonight. It was riveting. I kind of wanted to kill myself afterwards. [OT] movie talk: i recently hit the jackpot in finding out about the existence of joseph campbell's mythos series. i watched all five lectures on mythos I in like two days. twice even. also, i rented the final x-files disc to remind myself of what happened after i had kind of lost interest in what had happened (i never actually grew to dislike the show - i thought the two new agents were pretty good, but i adored mulder and scully so much that it was never the same without the two of them working together.) mulder gives one of his dorkiest speeches in the last episode (called "truth".) his "you're afraid of the truth!" speeches rarely made any sense to me, but his conviction was always sexy enough that it rarely bothered me. as far as actual movies (big screen, even), i'm hoping to see "tell no one" in the next few days - i was happy to see it's playing at the art theatre right down the street. it's a french thriller that's gotten good reviews. it sounds like it may even be a bit haunting (yay.) - -- "people with opinions just go around bothering one another." -- the buddha ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V16 #661 ********************************
