I had an idea RH had been in a band called the Soft Boys but no idea how they sounded. Love "Nextdoorland" but I think of it as a RH record with interesting backup musicians... An e-mail friend told me recently that "Jewels for Sophia" had gotten him into Robyn's music so I definitely have an eye out for that one... I find the size of his catalog sort of intimidating! You know going in that the character is an idiot and going to behave idiotically. I know the show. I love the show. I know Colbert is doing a character. And I believe that Rush was "in" on everything and don't expect that they're upset at all. Plus the show had Rush in every nook and cranny, with the gag being that the director (or producer?) kept inserting Rush music and references everywhere during the "regular" portion of the show. He even had a segment where he quasi-interviewed the band before they played - which was very cool, and something that other shows with musical guests too seldom do. All of that was very respectful and fun and funny. BUT I'm just sayin'... they're playing on live US TV for the first time in 33 years... I'm cool with shenanigans, just not *during* the damn song.
