I went on a min-buying cd spree yesterday: : Robert Forster - The Evangelist Sam Phillips - Don't Do Anything Aimee Mann - @#%*! Smilers One from the early 60's: Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley . The Evangelist is my favorite release of 2008 so far. Sam has such an unique voice, I can't think of anyone who even comes close to sounding like her. Hopefully @#%*! Smilers will even yield more enjoyment later on. I really haven't liked anything she has done since 1999's Batchelor #2, and so far I like it more then the last couple she released even if it's sans-guitar. The WIlson-Adderley combo is a natural, I can't believe I never picked it up before this. Too bad they never recorded a second album together. Greetings fellow fegs, I'm de-lurking for a wholly self-serving purpose. My cassette-only copies of the first two Plasticland albums ('Plasticland' and 'Wonder Wonderful Wonderland') have bitten the dust, not surprisingly, and I have had no luck in turning up a torrent for them. (I'm not on Dime, if they're on there.) Can anyone point me to a source? I had a sudden overwhelming desire to hear them again after many years!
