I guess they can only do that with Google Mail, because your browser already has the requisite rights (i.e. cookies or session data) to read the address book. I'm not sure if that's cross-site scripting or if there are other ways to do that, but I'm pretty sure that it only works because it's all within the browser. They couldn't access a local address book without much more intrusive measures, i.e. a signed applet or even a program that's downloaded. (along with, of > course, The Tubes). For some reason some '80's sounds really bug me, and others not at all. I can find no pattern to this at all. But I will say that over the past year or so, as the dust has finally settled on the '90's, I'm starting to become really allergic to some production tics from *that* decade that I didn't much notice the first time around. I think part of that was underlined by the charting, on subsequent weeks, of new records by Counting Crows and R.E.M., bands who, to me, have little in common, but in the public imagination seem to be nearly interchangeable '90's rock, along with, like, Live and Better Than Ezra and Third Eye Bland and shit like that. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about it. - -Rex ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 29 Apr 2008 10:14:53 -0700 From: "kevin studyvin" Subject: Re: REAP > > > Well...Collins didn't produce his own albums, for one (it was Hugh > > > Padgham, or Steve Lillywhite, or one of those guys)...and for two, you > > know> > who originated that sound?
