Doesn't that depend on who's maturbating? Because I can think of a few people (and by people, I mean women) who I certainly wouldn't mind .... "I'm not tempted to write a song about George W. Bush. I couldn't figure out what sort of song I would write. That's the problem: I don't want to satirize George Bush and his puppeteers, I want to vaporize them." -- Tom Lehrer "The eyes are the groin of the head." -- Dwight Schrute . ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals? That reminded me that the Pretty Things' performance of SF Sorrow at the Royal Festival Hall was my very first introduction to Robyn - the Soft Boys were supporting them, and I came away from the gig thinking how much more I enjoyed the support band than the main act. I went out and bought Underwater Moonlight the next day, and a couple of weeks later my first solo Robyn album, which was (somewhat oddly, perhaps) Invisible Hitchcock. I had a portable CD player at the time (aah, remember those!) and I took that album pretty much everywhere I travelled, so much so that it's now so battered it won't play in most stereos. The opening lines of 'All I Want To Do' still give me a bit of that thrill of discovery though. But her parents and sister also have the reports from the emergency room, which make the course of illness sound a lot more like thyrotoxicosis, and we know from the report that she told the emergency room intake nurse that she had Grave's disease. Given that, and given that with my knowledge of her symptoms and the fact that she had untreated Grave's disease it took me about two seconds on Google to find out that untreated Graves disease can lead to thyrotoxicosis and death, it would seem that the medical examiner fucked up, the hospital fucked up, or (most likely) both. Her family is considering pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit, and I am encouraging them to do so. I'm planning to put together a book of Natalie's writing and publish it via Lulu.com. If anyone wants details concerning that as they become available, please let me know.
