I can say with some measure of authority: it's because it's that way in Dutch as well. The native name (which is now also used in German) is "Den Haag". "Den" is Dutch for "the". "Haag" means "hedge". So it's actually "The Hedge". I never quite followed Dweezil's career so I had been under the assumption that he was still some Eddie Van Halen joker, but damn has he matured. His solos were unblievable and the band he put together was tight as hell - including special guest Ray White.
