Although, watching James Young chase Tommy Shaw around the stage was kinda' funny. That Dennis DeYoung guy was ...um... somewhat entertaining. Doin' the BIG keyboards/lead guy thing ...badly. Anyway. I was at that Oct/'77 Capitol Theatre Be Bop Deluxe/Styx/The Dictators gig (hit the link below 7Ts Capitol Theatre/Academy Of Music show itinerary scans ...usually nicked from the Sunday Times in Patchogue/Medford HS's library) ...kind of an odd triple bill in itself. Maybe not. That was a Saturday evening jaunt over to lovely downtown Passaic, NJ after one of those Rock-Ages Record Conventions in Manhattan. I remember that day quite fondly. My old pal Phil scored all three Nazz albums off some guy out front selling stuff out of boxes on the sidewalk. So. Phil was set before we ever got inside. Those Rock-Ages things were cool as they usually had bands perform as well. Saw The Ramones down in the basement at one. That was at the old Hotel Diplomat across from Town Hall. One year the promoters hired out Town Hall for a Dead Boys throw down. Hotel Diplomat hosted a load of great post-punk/new wave stuff from '77 to about '79...saw a MOST brill Buzzcocks/Monochrome Set show there. Another *it* NYC venue for a bit back there.
