I have trouble spelling his name *and* I have trouble pronouncing it. It seems like the spelling should go with a different pronunciation and vice versa. I like Scott. I rather like his lack of subtlety; this trait is generally not a positive one in my book. Admittedly, I can maybe tell a very good guitar player from a so-so one, but that's about it, so I really have no idea whether he's a decent bass player. I love the Minus Five album "Let the War Against Music Begin". It seems a little surf hippie perhaps? I like those songs better than ones they've done at shows in the past year or so (I think the Minus Five opened for RH at Slim's in early 2006 show?) that must be from The Gun Album. Also, I put on the Tokyo Boat Show DVD for a friend and she was rather impressed with the bass player, what with the blindness** and all. xo ** differently sighted? - -- - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "People with opinions just go around bothering one another." - The Buddha ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2007 22:16:24 -0400 From: "Lauren Elizabeth" Subject: Re: I hope he didn't sneeze... True, but I'm actually pretty okay with spaces being left unfilled. Otherwise we are going to have to turn to Nick Winkworth for memories of the Waves in the pre-Katrina era. According to Wikipedia: "New projects he is working on as of the end of 2006 include: a rerelease of The Bible of Bop (his 1981 album) with extra tracks; Lend Me Your Comb, a new album of covers from the 1950s with Lee Cave-Berry; and Ridgeway, a new concept EP. Christopher Plummer gives a fine performance as Holmes, but it's James Mason as the best ever Dr. Watson that almost steals the show. Mason doesn't portray Watson as a buffoon like Nigel Bruce did, and makes him more realistically smart as well as some added bits of humor and wit. I was hoping they would reprise their roles and have another go at Holmes and Watson, but alas James Mason died before another movie was shot.
