First off, I want to go on record as saying i like Scott. Mostly for his humor though. I love his songwriting and onstage banter, however, while listening to the knitting factory gig today I realized how much I missed Andy's bass on Driving Aloud and Morris' vocals on, well, everything else. Robyn was in fine form - I only hope he's that happy when he gets to San Francisco. I was also reminded of something Peter Buck said in the Sundance Channel program. He said he was striving to be Robyn's extra set of hands - I like that. - -tc ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2007 01:09:23 -0400 From: FSThomas Subject: Badness, with too literal a hand. I keep forgetting to watch the higher res version of the videos on the live EP. Which is pretty good, and I don't remember having said so before, so now I have. I'm really pleased with the live band for my own part. I like Peter, and playing with Robyn gets him back to what he does best. I don't miss Andy's playing that much on this particular set of material... I love it, but it's far more useful in the three piece setting where there's not a second guitar to fill in the textures, so Scott's no-nonsense tasteful playing does just fine. I *do* miss Kimberly, whose contributions to the album stand out more and more to me as high points... but again, this is a different side of Robyn, the jangular vs. the angular, and there's things that can happen with Peter that don't happen with Kim. That's true. That's actually a good song, and a good vocal performance...
